Rockefeller in the late 1860’s, Flagler was instrumental in the devel<
opment of Florida as well as railroads in Florida. He became known
as the father of Miami, Florida.

Harriet Beecher Stowe on back. She was an American abolitionist
and author. Her novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin written in 1852, was a
depiction of life for African Americans under slavery; it reached mil<
lions as a novel and play, and became influential in the United States
and United Kingdom. It helped energize anti<slavery forces in the
North, while provoking widespread anger in the South.
