1124 U.S.A. Bonus Army Encampment “Bonus Expeditionary
Force” Set of 3 Photos.
Anacostia, D.C., 1932. Lot of three (3) 10x4
inches, All historic images from this shameful past event of how we
treated our Veterans who risked their lives for this country, This
encampment was due to the “Bonus Act” and was awarded to vet<
erans who served in WWI between April 5, 1917 and July 1, 1919, to
be held for 20 years, similar to an insurance policy. Due to the
depression in the 1930’s many veterans wanted to cash their certifi<
cates early and in 1932 the “Bonus Army” marched on Washington.
Eventually the encampment was broken up with the loss of 2 Lives
and many hurt. Extremely rare photographs from this sad time peri<
od in our country.
