Indiana. Lot of 2 notes (uncut sheet of 2), 1857 (ca.1970’s),
$50-100, (IN-2-UNL1PP (proof only issue); G298a (SENC). Modern
“Proprietary Proofs”. The $50 proof has portraits of men on lower
left and middle and 3 men together on right; the $100 note has por-
traits of distinguished men on left and right with quartet of male
and female reapers in middle. Black printing without underprint,
printed on thin white card, PMG graded Superb Gem Uncirculated
67 EPQ, BC&C. Archival “Proprietary” proofs rarely seen in sheet

$1-$2-$3-$5, (All Haxby Unlisted as well as unlisted location “Waterloo”), Haxby has no mention of any notes from Waterloo or with “The Mercantile Bank”
title or designs, evidently they are all Unknown notes, Modern “Proprietary Proof Sheet”, The $1 note has sailor on LR, young woman with bird on left of large
red central numeral “1” and portrait of another young woman on right of numeral and state seal on LL; The $2 note has central Screaming Eagle with woman
holding basket on head on UL and state seal on LR; The $3 note has man petting dog on LL, Seated allegorical plenty with cornucopia in middle flanked by two
young girls, state seal LR; The $5 note has young girl holding piece of fruit on LR, Native Americans looking at lovely waterfall scene flanked by red numeral
