Philadelphia, 1805 Lottery Ticket.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
March 1, 1805. Issued lottery ticket #254, Black on light off white
bond type of paper mounted on lower border to white thin card that
could possibly be removed, Excellent and almost uncirculated con-
dition. The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas was founded in
1792. The original African Church was an outgrowth of the Free
African Society -a mutual aid organization established in 1787 by
Absalom Jones, Richard Allen and others -to assist the Black popu-
