2597 ABNC Paul Revere Proof Vignette Portrait Duo.

NY, ND (ca.1860-80’s), Lot of 2 images mounted on large manila
envelope. Includes 1.75 x 2 inche portrait of Revere with leaves sur-
rounding oval portrait with “No.45” listed on bottom and a 6 x 3.5
inch square portrait taken from Gilbert Stuart’s painting of Revere
with his facsimile signature and text “ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF
THE BANKNOTE INDUSTRY” on the bottom, plate#X-2115 on top
border. Both in AU condition but there is a small 2 x 1.5 mm piece
missing from the right border of the large image. Rare ABNC pro-

advertising booklet or broadsides with ornate and detailed
vignettes and designs listing information about the company as well
as prices for printing banknotes. Young women on left and right
with allegorical women in corners with large patriotic eagle and alle-
gorical woman in middle; the second page has portraits of Franklin
and Washington, eagle, Native Americans, Numerals with young
men and women on bottom corners, large building on bottom. XF
condition and a superior example for this issue that is rarely seen
