Bridgeton, New Jersey. Lot of 4 notes (uncut sheet of 4), 18xx
(ca.196070’s), $55510, (NJ45G34,; G48), Modern “Proprietary
Proofs”. The $5 proofs have portrait of marble bust of man on lower
left, man feeding cows hay in middle and young woman blowing
dandelion on right; the $10 note has a farm family with chicken on
lower left, farm family on raft in middle and young female reapers
on lower right; the $10 note has cherubs on upper left and right with
portrait of young man (I think) in middle. Black printing without
underprint printed on thin white card, Choice to Gem Uncirculated
condition. ABNC. Archival “Proprietary” proofs rarely seen in sheet

Uncut sheet of 4 obsolete banknotes, $20$20$50$100, NJ280X2
(G24, 24, 26, 28), Unissued sheet, the $20 note has young man giv
ing flower to young woman on left, cattle and sheep in middle and
standing Liberty and shield on right with small train on bottom; the
$50 note has barge being pulled along canal in middle with seated
liberty on left and standing allegorical woman on right with cornu
copia; $100 has woman with rake on left, milkmaid on right with
Washington after crossing the Delaware in the Battle of Trenton,
1776 in middle, the sheet has been folded vertically in the middle
and has folds in the middle horizontally, the paper is fresh and crisp
and these folds keep this attractive sheet from AU to Uncirculated

tectors, large forlorn bulls portrait in middle under curved title, loco
motive on bridge with cattle and telegraph lines in foreground on
lower left, seal on lower right, S/N 4497, pp A, minimal edge faults,
relatively sharp corners and bright colors but there is a small 1/4 inch
tear on the top right margin and 2 areas of ink burn, one in the LR
signature area and the second on the bottom middle border. Rare
note in any condition, DWC. (Ex Smythe & Co., Auction 247, Mar. 23,
2005, Lot #4527, sold for $315)
