Counterfeiting Security Department.
San Salvador, El Salvador,
189x (ca.1899), 1 Peso, Ser. A, P;S201p, Front and back proofs cut
down to banknote size, the front used as a model for different
chemical test on a variety of areas of the inked paper. The test areas
are circled or a small X placed in border to mark the test location.
Some areas are faded and others look normal. Interesting and rare
ink testing by ABN Counterfeit Research Department. Well known
Reapers on left with seated allegorical woman with eagle and El
Salvador arms on right. The note would grade Uncirculated except
for the test areas which do not stand out. ABNC.
