let. All are tipped in by the top back margins. Denominations are 2 ;
5; 10; 20 and 50 pounds. All are printed with ornate borders and m/c
underprints with “00000” serial numbers and Specimen
overprints. Backs are blank. All are in Uncirculated to CU condition.

Maitland,
NSW. 1869 (ca.1866 written in pencil on bottom). Uncut sheet of 3
proof 1st, 2nd and 3rd Bills of Exchange printed in black.
Correspondent bank in London, England. Printed on thick
india type of paper. Vignette of lions, unicorn and crown in middle
and counterfoil of bank arms on left. Top note has small hole in left
counterfoil, the other 2 are in VF to AU condition with minor
toning and glue stains. Printed by Perkins, Bacon & Co., London.

Maryborough, (Queensland), Australia. 18xx (1864). Proof 1st, 2nd
and 3rd Bills of Exchange, Sight Drafts. Printed on thick india type of
paper in black ink. Draft is payable at there office in London. Arms
with lion and unicorm flanking crown on shield. The top exchange
has 3 holes in the corners from removal from previous mounting,
the bottom two exchanges are in VF condition with minor toning
and wrinkling. Archival pencil notations on bottom. Printed by
Perkins, Bacon & Co., London. Rare early Australian fiscal item from
difficult location.

Austria, 1920, Lot of 1 sheet, Includes Printer signed proof sheet of
6 notes with title “Notgeld Der Marktgemeinde St.Wolfgang am
Wolfgangsee”, 14.25 x 10.25 inches, brown, blue and m/c, each note
has a different view of churchs, imprint of Druck & Wiesel/Salzburg.
on bottom border margin, VF with some light toning, edge tears,
tape remnant on right and a couple of small pieces missing
from the left border, this proof has not been offered since the
mid 1970’s when it was purchased from the Bob Brown Collection.
