blue with blue underprint, VF condition, Indian was the first com-
mercially marketed gasoline powered motocycle manufacturing
company in the United States. In 1901 George M. Hendee, a high
wheel champ and C, Oscar Hedstrom, also a racer, opened the
Hendee Manufacturing Company that later was changed to Indian
Motocycle Manufacturing Company, the manufacturer of the
famous Indian Motocycle that is still known the world over. It also
manufactured airplane engines, bicycles, outboard motors, home
unit air conditioners, and many other items. ABNC. . .

ABNC. Signed by Barney Everitt as President. Edward Vernon
Rickenbacker was an American fighter ace in World War I and
Medal of Honor recipient. The Rickenbacker Motor Company was
incorporated in July of 1921 when Barney Everitt decided to
start up another car company. He asked Eddie Rickenbacker for the
use of his name on the automobiles and named Eddie
vice-president & director of sales for the company. Scarce and pop-
