Nicaragua
(Incorporated and offices in NY), 1856, 100 Shares, Issued and
uncancelled but endorsed on back, black on thin off white paper,
steamship in middle, Capital $7,870,000 on left end panel. VF condi-
tion. Historic company that was set up by Cornelius Vanderbilt and
others during the California Gold Rush in the early 1850’s to trans-
port prospects from the East Coast of the U.S. to the West Coast.
Travelers would take a steamer from NY to the Mosquito Coast of
Nicaragua where they would travel by stagecoach and steamboat to
the pacific coast and then onto San Francisco. Accessory Transit
offered thee cheapest method of traveling to California, $300 ini-
tially and then later reduced to $150 and at its peak was carrying
over 2000 passengers per month. After 1857, Vanderbilt
approached Pacific and U.S. Mail Steamship Companies that ran a
route across Panama and agreed to basically Green mail by stop-
ping his business for a monthly stipend of $56,000. Rare and historic
certificate that is missing from most collections. . . . . .

Prescott, Arizona, 1892. 100 Shares, Issued and uncan-
celled but endorsed and transferred on back, black with no under-
print, locomotive L-R passing trees under arched title, Shares $100
each, Issued to Theo Otto and signed by T.S. Bullock as president.
The Prescott & Arizona Central was built by a group formed by
Thomas S. Bullock and in 1886 they completed a 73 mile line from a
connection with the Atlantic & Pacific at Seligman to Prescott. In
1893 the Prescott & Arizona Central was bankrupt and in receiver-
