Welcome to the Sale
On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome you to our Ninth
exciting auction we have held in the last four years. We are honored to have been chosen to host the first annual auction
held in conjunction with John Herzog’s Scripophily Bourse in New York City that is being held appropriately enough at
the historic Museum of American Finance on Wall Street. We look forward to participating in this event and anticipate it
will become a yearly highlight of the Scripophily hobby. John and Diana Herzog’s previous Strasburg, Pennsylvania
bourse was the international highlight of the scripophily collecting community for many years and I know is missed by a
majority of collectors and dealers who were fortunate enough to have experienced the friendships, camaraderie, shared
collecting passion and lots of fun in a beautiful setting that was the standard of this bourse.
We are offering 1,167 lots of U.S. and Worldwide scripophily held in 2 sessions. The Live session will be on Friday,
October 21st at the historic India House located at One Hanover Square and includes 563 lots with many highlights
including rare railroads, automobiles and mining certificates to famous autographs on stocks and bonds such as Houdini
and Marcus Garvey to name a few. We also will be offering a Mail Bid – Absentee Bidding session including Live Internet
and Phone bidding, but no live gallery on Wednesday, October 26th, 2011. There will be an additional 600+ lots in this
session with many desirable certificates being offered.
We are looking forward to an exciting weekend at the two day Bourse held at the Museum and expect to see many old
friends and acquaintances and hopefully make many new friends. We hope you enjoy our auction offerings and we look
forward to at least two scripophily auctions per year if not more. I would also like to thank everyone who has participated
in our previous auctions and has helped make this auction series a resounding success. We are already in production for
our next Scripophily Auction scheduled sometime in mid to late March, 2012 as well as finishing up our U.S. and World-
wide Banknote auction scheduled for November 14th, 2011 in New York City.
I am proud to present the Ninth installment of Archives International Auctions offerings of Scripophily and
historic documents.
Best of luck,
Bob Schwartz
