484 Historic Proof Vignettes, circa 1830s to 1860s By Well Known Security Printers

Lot of 39 cut down proof vignettes printed on

india paper, includes various designs such as cattle and farm animals,

allegorical workers, farm scenes, steamboats, early locomotives, patriotic

eagles and other animals, and various vignettes used on early obsolete

banknotes and security documents. Mostly VF to Uncirculated. Printed

by various printers including RWH&E, Baldwin and others. ����Est.

485 Brattleboro, Vermont “Facility” Obsolete Scrip Sheet of 9 Different Scrip Notes.

Brattleboro, VT. ND (ca.1820-30’s). 9 different

scrip notes on one sheet. Unissued merchant scrip sheet. Payable in

Goods at our Store on demand. All are either different denominations or

have different methods of spelling, numerals and numbers, no duplicates.

Sheet is formatted in two vertical rows of four and one note to the right

vertically. Includes 5cts - 6 1/4cts - 6 1/4cts - 10cts - 12 1/2cts - 20cts -

25cts - 50cts - 5cts. Printed on thin brown onion skin like paper. Rough

edges on margins, but almost all notes are AU to Unc. with mild toning.

Rare Vermont Merchant scrip sheet without company name. ����Est.

486 Hydeville Company, 1862 Uncut Partially Issued Scrip note Sheet of 20 Notes.

Hydeville, Vermont. 1862, Uncut sheet of 20 notes,

includes 5 cts(2); 10 cts(4); 15 cts(4); 25 cts(6); and 50 cts(4). All are very

attractive with bright red underprints and each vignette with Native

Americans or farmer, Notes would grade Choice AU to CU. Rare as

Derby Land, Vermont, $1,

I/U, Washington and Franklin at lower left and right corners, allegorical

women flank red “1” protector in middle, the note would have been

Choice Fine to Very Fine but there are stains and pieces missing on the

top and bottom right margin and corners and stains on the left margin,

488 Union Bank of Columbia Uncut Sheet of 2 Proprietary Proofs and Undertints.

Washington, D.C. Lot of 4 notes (2 uncut sheet of 2notes),

18xx (printed originally in the 1850-60’s, this sheet is ca.1970’s), $20-50,

(DC-365-G6a; G8a), Modern “Proprietary Proofs”. The $20 proof has

portraits of distinguished men on lower left and right and capital building

in middle. Notches on left and right margins for printing registration.

Black printing with green underprint counterfeit protectors, printed on

thin white card, Also included is the underprint proof in black instead of

green. All are Choice to Gem Uncirculated condition. ABNC. Archival
